Odor is a common source of complaints for municipal plants. It’s not at all uncommon to find that their odors stem from sludge somewhere within the plant. This 3 MGD activated sludge plant in Texas was receiving odor complaints from 3 pm-8 pm every night in the summer. When they came to us for a solution, we recommended that the operators meter in DAZZeL Sewer Sweetener at the front end of the plant every afternoon. Adding Sewer Sweetener at the front allowed it to spread through the whole process and knocked out odors. The plant experienced an immediate drop-off in the complaints they were receiving.
